I'll stamp all over 'serious combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" the American as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for next month's boxing match.

Former two-time unified heavyweight champion Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Mindset

"I plan to damage his features and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

In spite of those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - typically recognized for his theatrics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead criticized former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British rival Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Still, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in rounds four or five and stated he would derail the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.

"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters engaged in the traditional stare-down, with their height and weight contrast evident, it emphasized just how surprising this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the match is truly happening.
